Decluttering — Getting rid of Gargoyles

Slept very late yesterday. But I felt so nice because of the fact that I was getting rid of some more clutter in my life. This time it was digital clutter. I unsubscribed more mails. Then I got rid of many articles I had bookmarked in Medium. Then got rid of some apps on my phone. I also deleted by Flickr account (which had like 3 pics from me) and deleted the app. I got rid some topics that I was following on Apple News and Medium.

I am trying my best to simplify my life so that I can focus on what’s important. I am getting rid of anything that’s bothering me on the back of my mind. For example this long list of bookmarked Medium articles was making me miserable. These were like Gargoyles constantly staring at me. There are many other Gargoyles that are not stuff, but these are mental ones that I had created for myself. These are self-imposed ones that I had created for myself to prove to myself that I am better. But I am good as I am and I don’t have to prove anything to anyone or more importantly myself.

Getting rid of these mental Gargoyles gives me a chance to reset everything and focus on very few things that I can enjoy and learn.

There are more Gargoyles to get rid. It’s a journey than a destination.
